Little Ipod/wallet/phone holder thing

just curious, does anybody know what the wires underneath this are for? im talking about the little rectangle space infront of the transmission. i pulled it out and there is random unused wiring into it... on a vrx anyway?

other models have extra buttons (for instance in RAs and EVOs) to assist with transmission modes etc
I believe they are for these applications only.
Adrian? Am I correct?

They are there for AFS Switch (front cornering lights for HID equiipped models) and the S-AWC Switch for Ralliart/Evolution models.
