				Draining coolant and refilling in CJ 2.0 litre

				Looking at doing a coolant change and refill on my ES 2.0. Looks like there is a  butterfly shaped bung on the radiator, but was wondering if anyone had done a coolant change on their car. Am asking if anyone knows if there any bleeder screws in the head or block to undo for air release when refilling system?

				Pretty sure there aren't any bleeder screws, just use the butterfly one and then remove the hose at the end.
You do need to make sure the coolant is up to temp though so that the thermostat is open

				When we did LZY_EYE's car we only used the butterfly bleeder on the radiator and had no problems with air pockets

				check that coolent will suit a lancer some coolants are diff 
eg some commodores had a problem with welsh plug been eaten away by some coolants.

				just tried to drain coolant in my CJ VRX up to running temp undone butterfly screw only 3.5 litres came out should be about  6 something as I like to do things properly hopped underneath car there is a bung under exhaust MANIFOLD allen key I hope it is had enough do it tomorrow hope that works already wasted $30 in coolant.

				Might be a silly question but opening the drain plug whilst hot and under pressure would seem problematic.  Did you wait for it to cool somewhat or take some special precautions?  
Without knowing the interior of the engine, if the drain plug is at the lowest point of the cooling system, I would expect the coolant to drain from both sides of the thermostat, even if it were closed.  Can anyone confirm or dispute this?

				If you are leaving half the old coolant in the car make sure the added coolant is the same, or could have problems. Its unwise to mix coolants!
