Yes that is a load of crap. the EVO ECU has boost maps for the turbo, so imagine the error codes it will throw when it can't find the boost sensor.

Which dealer did he get his car from.
I won't say specifically in a public forum, but it was a dealer on South Rd, Morphettvale!
