Clicking sound just after the car moves forward
I just had my car's 1500k service last weekend. Mentioned to the service manager about a clicking sound when the car starts to move forward particularly in the morning when i go to work. He said its normal. Claimed that Its just the ABS self checking... Question: is it really normal to hear that clicking sound?

"I get this to. I've never had it before its only just started n it's usually first thing in the morning goes on for about 5 minutes..." princesskelsey
That I would ask about Kelsey. The clicking that they're talking about is ONE click just after you move off. Not something that goes on for 5 minutes.
And yes I get that one click too.

Hi Tong-Sea!
This noise after moving for the first time after an engine start is 100% normal. It's just the ABS initialising at the first forward movement of the vechile after it's been turned on.
*Dealership told me to expect it when I first bought my car when picking it up.
*Many other members have the same noise in the exact scenario, also witnessed by all our cars at meets in the past.
*Also it's clearly stated in Section 4, Page 61, Paragraph 4 of your Car's Manual: "An Operation noise is emitted from the engine compartment or feel a shock from the brake pedal when start driving immediately after start the engine. These are normal sound or operation that the ABS makes when performing a self-check. It does not indicate a malfunction."
Note: There is a different clicking noise upon turning your key to the 'On' position just before you put it to the "Start" position. It's 4 fast clicks in succession, this is a different set of engine self checks and this is also 100% normal and all our cars do it.
Hope this fully answers your question
